fish for an hour

after work went to medicine creek to fish.this time i fished right next to the bridge. it was alot easier to get next to the water.. there were stone in the hill side which made it easier to get down. there were large metal rods sticking up out of the concreat so it was kind of dangerouse.. after about 20 min i Hooked into a nice carp. it ran down stream i tried to keep my line out of the near by trees... as i got the fish in closer i realised it had gotten tangle up in a bush ..... i tried to muscle the fish out... then my real messed up.. it wouldnt put line on the real and got all tangled up so i tried to undo the line and the fish ran back down stream..luckly getting free its self from the bush and then i had to pull the fish in by hand....

Going for a few hours in the after noon depending on how much the babie cries.... :(got to go for about an hour ended up fishing in medicine creek. by the bridge. i saw several 5-8 pound carp jumping out of the water along the shore. I also saw one small gar about 9 inches and a bass about 11in. i did catch one blue gill about the size of my fly on accident.

Carp Fishing at Lake Hefner

Never fished for carp before, didn't realize how big they were until a signed up at the carphunter group. Sooooo.... mixed up a batch of bait from bedlem's posts and went fishing. Landed a 10lb carp first time out....since I didn't know anything about them, just had my bass rod and 15lb test with a small mitchell reel. Wow...that was a fight.

Nice Little Lake

This is a nice lake owned by the city of Stillwater. It is located north and west of Carl Blackwell, camping is only $9 and RV's are $19. Daily is $6. Fishing is pretty good, we will be returning and fishing it more to figure out the lake and the fish runs. From what I understand the Saugeye are great at night in the coves.

Coon Creek Lake

Nice smaller lake set opposite lake Carlton in Wilburton, OK. Only open from 8am to dark because it is a runoff control. Legend has it was the 2nd best bass lake in OK at one time. Watch out for snakes! 5 varieties of venemous snakes at this lake. Overgrown everywhere, safest place looks like on a boat!.

Arcadia Lake

Arcadia is a local lake in Edmond. Cost $6 to get in, but if you fish it right it is well worth it. I reccomend just pay the $15 and stay the night. Bass in early morning in the coves around brush, cats are good all day, crappie are good too. Striped and white bass in the evening are fun.

Robber's Cave Tour

Went to Robber's cave last weekend. Took in Carlton Lake, Wesley Wallace and a couple of strip pits and ponds. The lakes were pretty good, the best cats seemed to be in Wallace. The strip pits and ponds in the eastern area are excellent. Caught a lot of bass, a few cats, plenty of bluegill. BTW, the folks at Robber's Cave Park are very nice and helpful, the park is clean and well done.
